Responsibilities:
St. Joan of Arc encourages all students, regardless of ability, to participate in the extracurricular athletics program. Sports include bowling, instructional, JV, and varsity basketball, cheerleading, cross-country, and JV and varsity soccer.
BOOK FAIR
Responsibilities:
An annual book fair is held at the school for three days each year. Fliers previewing some of the selections are sent home to parents. A schedule for individual class visits is made and children can buy books which have been selected ahead of time, or browse and select books on the day of their visit. Parents are needed to help children K - 4 make their selections.

Responsibilities:
Volunteers are responsible for publicizing the General Mills Box Tops for Education, Campbell labels, and Shop ‘n Save receipts programs which offer the school money, computer hardware and software, supplies, and science presentations in exchange for receipts or box tops. CAFETERIA

Responsibilities:
St. Joan of Arc’s cafeteria program relies on the help of volunteers. The volunteers come to school between 11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. to help serve lunches, wash dishes, and clean tables. Whatever time you can spare would be greatly appreciated. It is a great way to see your children and make new friends.

Volunteers sell certificates before Mass (4:30 - 5:00 Saturday; 8:00 - 10:00 & 10:00 - 12:00 Sunday) or fill orders at school during the school day.
FASHION SHOW

Volunteers plan and host the annual St Joan of Arc Spring Parade of Fashion, including fashion provider coordination, model selection, basket auction, table decoration, and ticket sales.
HOMEROOM PARENTS

Responsibilities:
Homeroom parents plan holiday parties for their classes. The classroom teacher may offer suggestions or the homeroom parent may work with several other parents to organize the party and contact other parents about drinks, snacks, or other needs. The teacher is always consulted in advance of specific activities. Classroom parents are needed for at least three parties during the year: Halloween, Christmas, and Catholic Schools Week.
HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

Responsibilities:
Provide “food and fun” for various school functions. Responsible for handling food and decor for two teachers luncheons “farewell” and “welcome” parties for staff changes as warranted, and other events as needed. This committee also maintains supplies for the “Booster Closet.”
LIBRARY

Responsibilities:
Assist the Librarian to maintain the library, including cataloging and shelving books, and maintaining magazine racks.
LOTTERY CALENDAR

Responsibilities:
Coordinate all activities related to this annual fundraiser event. A total of 1,000 tickets are printed and sold at $25 each. Ticket sales for the following year’s calendar begin shortly after the start of the school year, and continue until December 18 or until all of the tickets are sold, whichever comes first. Winners are determined based on the evening
MARKET DAY

Responsibilities:
Market Day is a food co-op held one Saturday a month from September through June. Volunteers set up products according to food categories, inventory items to ensure that we received what was ordered, and aid customers in packing their orders.
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS

Responsibilities:
The Marketing & Communications committee was established to heighten the school’s image in the community through advertising, public relations and promotions.
PLAYGROUND

Responsibilities:
Volunteers lead the children out of the building after lunch, monitor children while on the playground, and lead them back to the school at the end of play period. Volunteers are responsible for enforcing school rules throughout the play period. In the case of inclement weather, the volunteers monitor the children in their classrooms. Teachers meet their students at the office following the play period.
SANTA’S WORKSHOP

Responsibilities:
Santa’s Workshop is open for 2 1/2 days each school year. It provides students with a chance to shop for reasonably priced gifts for their families, under the direction of their parents. It involves setting up the shop, decorating, helping the students and re-packing unsold merchandise.
SCHOOL SOCIAL EVENTS

Responsibilities:
These volunteers are responsible for coming up with creative ideas and then organizing and implementing social activities that bring together the school families. Examples include dances, ice cream socials, ice skating, etc.
SJAMBOREE

Responsibilities:
The SJAmboree is an annual fundraiser for students in grades K - 8 which includes a field events day. In addition to physical activities, the children do “brain games.” Volunteers are needed to help with the games, snacks, record keeping, etc.
TECHNOLOGY COMMITTEE

Responsibilities:
The Technology committee maintains the school’s Technology Plan; provides Computer Room assistance, maintains the Computer Room equipment and school network, oversees maintenance of the school and parish Web site, and provides adult education computer classes.
WEBMASTER

Responsibilities:
The Webmaster maintains the school’s website; uploads relevant information and news, uploads the weekly newsletters, maintains the school calendars, and makes all necessary staffing/volunteering changes on a year-to-year basis.
UNIFORM EXCHANGE

Responsibilities:
The Uniform Exchange is held on the first Monday of each month. Parents can donate used boys or girls uniforms for sale or exchange for a desired size, if available. Uniforms can also be purchased at a minimal cost. Volunteers maintain the stock of used uniforms and run the exchange days.
YEARBOOK

Responsibilities:
The committee is responsible for “creating” the annual school yearbook. This includes individual student class pictures (provided by the school), obtaining pictures of the teachers, administrators and staff, activity photos of clubs and sporting events, and candid shots of school activities and class projects.
Once the information has been gathered, the group organizes it and designs a layout for the book. The advisor is responsible for the final edit and submission of the final draft to the publishing company.
The advisor also coordinates sales of the yearbook, including money collection, order processing, and distribution.
